Make a cute St. Patrick’s Day handprint keepsake craft that says, “cutest clover in the patch.”
Hi! Today I’m sharing a really fun and simple handprint craft idea for St. Patrick’s Day. We’re going to make a handprint clover/shamrock and thanks to an adorable printable, it’s a five minute craft that you will want to keep forever. Dang those little handprints… they are just so sweet!
To make this craft, you will need the following items:
Materials Needed
- Cutest Clover Printable File
- White Cardstock
- Green Acrylic Craft Paint (I used Apple Barrel Arbor Green)
- Paint Brush
Instructions
Step 1: Download the printable file at the bottom of this post. It’s hosted on Google Drive, so if you are on a school or work computer and the link isn’t working, try again on an unrestricted computer. Print the design onto white cardstock.
Step 2: Cover your child’s hand in a thick layer of green paint. I like to brush it on with a paint brush. The handprint will look better if you use a lot of paint. Too little paint will give you a light and wimpy handprint without very many details.
Step 3: Immediately press your child’s hand onto the paper so that the bottom of the palm is set on the clover stem above the bow. Press gently without moving side to side, then lift straight up.
Step 4: Wash your child’s hand with soap and water and the paint will come right off. Don’t forget to wash out your paintbrush too.
Then you will be left with a very cute St. Patrick’s Day themed handprint keepsake to cherish forever.
I created several versions of the printable. One is pink and the other is blue. I also made versions that have the actual clover leaves in them as well. I can’t decide which I like better… just the handprint or the handprint over the clover leafs. What do you think?
Either way, all of the variations are available in the same folder here:

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this craft for St. Patrick’s Day. One alternative idea… if you don’t want to mess with paint, simply trace a handprint onto green paper and cut it out, then paste it to the printable. Same general idea without the mess of paint. This would be a good way to alter this craft to do with a big group of kids.
Happy crafting!
