Turn Kinder Eggs into spiders for Halloween. It’s a craft, a toy, and a treat!
Today we’re making a super simple Halloween craft that doubles as a treat. Have you ever had a Kinder Egg before? One side of the egg holds a yummy chocolaty treat and the other side has a little toy. My kids love them! So I thought it would be fun to turn them into cute little spiders for my four year old to hand out to his preschool class. Let me show you how I made them!
Gather the following supplies:
Materials Needed
- Kinder Eggs
- Black Cardstock
- Scissors or Paper Trimmer
- Large Googley Eyes
- Hot Glue Gun
Instructions
Step 1: Cut a strip of black cardstock to be 6.5 inches long, then cut that piece into skinny 1/4 inch strips. It goes super quickly with a paper trimmer, but if you don’t have one, just use scissors.
Step 2: Fold the cardstock strips so there’s a 1/2 inch small part folded up, then fold the remaining part in half going down. It should look like this:
Step 3: Use hot glue to attach four spider legs to each side of the Kinder egg. I glued them below the center seam so that it is still easy to open the egg.
Step 4: Attach two googly eyes to the front of the egg using more hot glue.
And that’s it! Easy peasy! I think the kids in my son’s preschool class are going to love these!
They’d be great to hand out to kids on Halloween night if you don’t get a ton of Trick-Or-Treaters at your house or if you want to make a little something fun to give to your grandkids. You could also do this as an activity for a Halloween class party, although the Kinder eggs are a bit pricey, so it would depend on your budget.
Who would YOU make them for?
